Rosalyn Brown
Rosalyn Brown was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in neuroscience. During university, Rosalyn volunteered with children who have special needs in various organizations and was a mentor for the volunteer program at Houston Methodist West Hospital. She also did undergraduate research in a neuroscience lab that studies spinal cord injury. Rosalyn moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to work as a genetic counselor assistant at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Magee-Womens Hospital in the prenatal and cancer clinics. In her free time, Rosalyn enjoys taking care of her houseplants, journaling, practicing yoga, going for runs, and traveling.
Brittany Burnside
Brittany Burnside was raised in Highland, Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. During her undergraduate program, Brittany participated in genetics labs on campus studying life history traits in Drosophila melanogaster as well as the genetic component of flagellar motility in Agrobacterium fabrum. While in school, she volunteered as a crisis counselor assisting those experiencing various mental health crises. During her free time, Brittany enjoys painting, making music, and paddle boarding.
Rajeshwari Koti
Rajeshwari Koti was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. She graduated in 2021 from Vellore Institute of Technology, India with a master’s degree in biomedical genetics specializing in genetic counseling. She completed her bachelor’s studies in 2019 majoring in biotechnology, zoology and chemistry from St. Francis College for Women, India. Rajeshwari has been an all-rounder by enthusiastically participating in extracurricular activities and volunteering. She has been associated with the Organization For Rare Diseases India and is presently volunteering for Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered. Rajeshwari completed a number of projects and conducted research, some of which were published in journals including Chemosphere and IOP-Science. Additionally, she actively participated in several sports and represented her college in various competitions. Rajeshwari likes to spend her free time traveling, cooking, and hanging out with her dogs.
Michael Rexroad
Michael Rexroad originally grew up in a small town near Kansas City called Peculiar, Missouri. He graduated from Missouri State University and received a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology, with minors in chemistry and biomedical science. Along with this degree, he also received an additional certificate in health sciences. During his undergrad, Michael took part in many extracurricular activities such as a peer counseling program that he helped bring to Missouri State University, which allowed him to spend time counseling his peers on how to be more successful in college. Alongside this, he spent many years gaining teaching experience through tutoring and assisting professors, eventually working as an undergraduate instructor in the Biomedical Sciences Department. Outside of class, Michael had the opportunity to shadow a genetic counselor at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Victoria Prater-Rochier
Victoria Prater-Rochier was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She graduated from Lyon College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in psychology. Victoria took part in various extracurricular activities during her undergraduate program, serving in executive leadership roles in Chi Beta Phi National Science and Math Honor Society, Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society, and the Lyon College Honors Fellows Program. Victoria was also a member of Mortar Board, a National Honor Society for undergraduate seniors, and served as an ambassador for Lyon College. Additionally, she participated in undergraduate research analyzing the impact of poultry pollution on local Ozark Mountain watersheds. Victoria has presented this research at multiple expositions, including at the Little Rock State Capital to former Governor Asa Hutchinson. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs and cat, watching movie marathons, and playing cozy video games.
